The latest in vehicle enhancement is the hybrid technology. Wherever we go these days, it seems that we see the word featured on the newest car models. Hybrid is simply a combination of two types of energy sources to run the vehicle. This technology is not just used on cars, although, cars are the first thing we associate it with.

The concept of using two energies to work together started on the early 1800s. Among the first prototypes are the mopeds. Just like the standard bicycles we have today, mopeds are designed with pedals and motors. It uses human energy to pedal the vehicle as it transmits the energy to the motor, which in turn makes the bicycle gain more torque.

Over the years, hybrid technology is used on larger vehicles. Power train is a good example of a hybrid vehicle. It uses electricity and diesel to run the engine more efficiently than just by using diesel alone. Other vehicles like boats and aircrafts are also known to use such technology.

Although, hybrid vehicles are generally referred to cars, there are many types of vehicles that are using this efficient technology. People are switching to hybrid, because of its efficiency and its eco friendly features.
