This 5 door Mk 1 GTI 1.8cc originates from VW Motor Port, Cape Town, South Africa where it was bought brand new by the previous lady owner in 1983 ( The period in which VW only built GTI’s for 3 months.) She then bought the car to the UK when her family relocated. Thus a husband and wife and only 1 other driver from new!
It comes with the original VW bill of sale, South African papers, export papers, number plates, the supplying dealer pack, service book , instruction manual and fuel consumption meter with fuel logbook completed from new !
The car has always been dry stored (Never seen the rain!) and only covered a genuine and warranted 22,900 miles (36,850 Km), with all past MOT’s to warrant the mileage, including a full service history with all invoices in support.
The car will come with a fresh MOT at point of sale and has been maintained and serviced every year without fail even though it has covered less than 1000 miles per annum and recently had a new cam belt and full service.
This is the 1800cc 5 door GTI with a 5 speed gearbox.
The car has all previous tax discs and just to alliterate how careful this car has been used the tires on the vehicle are the original put on by the factory and still have ample tread left!
The bodywork is silver metallic and in immaculate condition with no rust, the interior is also in immaculate condition throughout, with the blue GTI original seats.
The vehicle comes complete with 2 sets of original keys / immobilizers and alarm.
This car is totally unmodified and unmolested in every way – factory fresh and is in exceptional time warp condition and has to be seen to be believed.
Mk 1 GTI’s are getting increasing rare now and there will never be another one available with this low warranted mileage. This is surely a collector’s piece and can only increase in value.
Please note that this is an original Golf GTI built in South Africa with all relevant papers and invoices to support this fact.
