The good bits:
+ Only 10 years old and in great condition
+ 2.5l Ford Transit Diesel engine – reliable, economical and loads of parts
+ 12 months MOT
+ Serviced by the NHS for most of its life – engine & body are rock-solid
+ Last full service less than 1000 miles ago
+ Loads of storage, power points, heating & lighting in the cab
+ Huge inside – 6ft 3in people can stand up straight
+The bed is a full size double futon
+ Opening windows/pop-roof installed
+ Recently replaced turbocharger (if you’re buying an ambulance this is the most likely big expense)
+ It used to be an ambulance, and the lights/sirens still work. That’s kick-ass.
The less good bits
- The ‘kitchen’ is currently camping gear in a box. It has always worked well for me but you can get a proper fitable kitchen on eBay or a couple of hundred pounds.
- The lens covers on the lights are temporary/ugly. I’m looking for some orange ones to replace them which will look great
